Happy Halloween!

I made some cute little Halloween cake pops this year. I actually think I like the ones from last year better, which you can see here, but these are cute too. I need a little more practice on the candy corn, they're a bit tricky.

July 4th

This was kind of a last minute tart/cheesecake creation. I spent the long 4th of July weekend with my family staying in cabins and relaxing by the lake. At about midnight on the 3rd I decided we needed a dessert to celebrate the holiday! This was actually really easy and a variation of this Kraft recipe. The star is a little crooked but it's still festive!

Spooktacular Birthday Cake

I was asked to make a birthday cake for a 10 year old girl who had very specific instructions -  vanilla & chocolate marble cake with orange frosting, black trim, ghosts and pumpkins.  I thought it would be fun to make it 3-D and add black and silver stars.   The ghosts are so cute!

Spooky Treats

Need some spooky treats this Halloween?  How about some creepy spiders or jack-o-lanters?
 Or some mummies and ghosts?
 Spider cupcakes?
Or some cute candy corn cupcakes?
Mini caramel apples?  Nope, caramel apple cake pops!  Apple spice cake dipped in caramel and rolled in nuts!  How fun are these?

Red, White, & Blue Cookies

I had some leftover cookie dough from a dessert I made last week so I wanted to make some fun cookies for the 4th of July.

4th of July Cupcakes

I was asked to make 3 dozen cupcakes for the 4th of July weekend.  I wanted to add a little holiday flare to the different flavors, especially these red velvet cupcakes.  Instead of regular white cream cheese frosting I swirled it with red, white, and blue and added a little pinwheel.   Very patriotic!!

Chirstmas Cupcakes

Like a lot of other people I have made many, many Christmas goodies.  Unfortunately, I never think to take pictures of them! Last year I was smart and took pictures of these 3 different mini cupcakes.
1. Red velvet with cream cheese frosting and a gingerbread cookie.
2. Chocolate mint with mint buttercream frosting and crushed candy canes.
3. Chocolate with light blue buttercream frosting and sprinkles (I was going for a winter/ snowflake look).

Valentine's Day

These pink, heart meringues were beautiful and delicious filled with strawberry whipped cream.
Red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
Shortbread cookies, which I dipped in chocolate, nuts, and coconut.
 Chocolate cupcake with powdered sugar.
