Olivia the Pig

The quality of these pictures aren't great, but I think the pops turned out pretty good. I was asked to make Olivia the Pig cake pops for a 4 year old girl's birthday party. Olivia is so cute!

Legos

These were really fun to make! They were for a little boy's birthday party and I heard he loved them! I was so happy to find the free cupcake picks here.

Happy Halloween!

I made some cute little Halloween cake pops this year. I actually think I like the ones from last year better, which you can see here, but these are cute too. I need a little more practice on the candy corn, they're a bit tricky.

Autumn Birthday Cake

I made a cake a few dozen cupcakes for a birthday the other day. I really wanted to make chocolate leaves but they didn't turn out. I ended up making fondant leaves but I'm looking forward to trying the chocolate leaves again.

Back to School!

It's already that time again - time for school to start! Today was our second day of teacher inservice and the kids start next week. I can't believe how summer goes by so fast!
I was asked to make some school themed cupcakes for a teacher retirement party. Being a teacher, I had a lot of fun with these.

Hawaiian Birthday

I'm not quite as confident decorating cakes, but I think this turned out alright.

July 4th

This was kind of a last minute tart/cheesecake creation. I spent the long 4th of July weekend with my family staying in cabins and relaxing by the lake. At about midnight on the 3rd I decided we needed a dessert to celebrate the holiday! This was actually really easy and a variation of this Kraft recipe. The star is a little crooked but it's still festive!

New Flavors

There are so many cupcake flavors I want to try making but haven't had the chance. I decided to experiment and thought I'd use my best taste tester - my dad! I made a little sample selection for Father's Day. I'm anxious to see what he likes best! Happy Father's Day!

Cupcakes, cake pops, cupcakes, cupcakes...

I've fallen behind on my posts lately, but school's out for summer so I'm playing catch up! Despite my lack of posts I've been busy baking, including these cupcakes for a wedding last weekend. Check out the next few posts.
Vanilla raspberry, mocha, and caramel apple.

Softballs, Music, and Drama!

These cake pops were for a graduation party. I was a bit worried, but ended up really happy with how they turned out, especially the optic yellow!

Show Choir & Jazz Band

I was asked to make some cupcakes for the high school show choir and jazz band. I chose to make vanilla, chocolate peanut butter, and a new flavor - rocky road.
I've seen a lot of recipes for rocky road but wasn't sure what I wanted. I decided to go with chocolate cake, marshmallow frosting, chocolate drizzle, and almonds. I think it needed a little more marshmallow flavor so I'll keep experimenting!

Confirmation Cupcakes

Red velvet, chocolate peanut butter, lemon blueberry, and chocolate chocolate with just a little frosting per request!

State Basketball

My hometown boys basketball team is headed the the state competition for the first time in 60 years! I was a basketball cheerleader in high school and have so many good memories of those games. Being a small town, the whole community is really excited and supporting the team. I thought I'd show my support by making maroon and silver cupcakes for the Wolverine team!
